The Balboa
Theater presents A Time Warp Party on Friday the 13th!
This party will be held “Over at the Frankenstein Place” (aka The
Pavilion) in the Balboa Village, just a block from the legendary Balboa
Theater where this outrageous 1975 cult film played as an evergreen until
the Theater’s closing in 1992. Screenings of the film in Balboa have since
become the thing of local legend - and of a yearning nostalgia for an era
when such films shocked as much as they entertained. Funds raised by this
event will support the re-opening of the beloved Balboa Theater as a
multi-use performing arts and film center.
In the spirit of the film and its fabled history, The Rocky Horror Picture
Show - A Time Warp Party, will reflect the adventurous nature of the film
as well as the new spirit of our times. Party guests will dine on the
haute cuisine of the movie house, including an open bar. Your donation of
$150 gets you in the party and includes your drinks for the evening.
