Future of the Balboa Theater
The theater is being remodeled into a 320-seat multi-use venue boasting the latest in sound and lighting design.



Audiences will enjoy the stadium-style seating, which offers optimum viewing pleasure while creating plenty of space for a comfortable lobby. No seat will be further than 60 feet from the stage, creating an intimate ambiance in which every seat is the best seat in the house.



A new roof-top entertainment deck will offer spectacular views of Newport Harbor and surrounding areas. The deck will be available for special events as well as pre- and post-performance gatherings.

So what can patrons expect to see at the new Balboa Performing Arts Theater? Simply the best dance, music, theater and film presentations available on a local, regional and national level.

The theater’s size will be attractive to specialized local and touring dance troupes. The Balboa Performing Arts Theater will be an ideal place to experience jazz, classical and pop music. Solo artists and small theater productions will feel right at home.

Keeping with its heritage, the Balboa Performing Arts Theater will screen classic, foreign and avant garde films.

 

 

  

 

And, as an important part of its mission, the Balboa Performing Arts Theater will offer educational programming geared toward school children and their families.

The Balboa Performing Arts Theater is easily accessible via a short drive down the peninsula or from Balboa Island on the historic Balboa Ferry, and is adjacent to 800 parking spaces, making it easy to enjoy the town’s many amenities.

Stroll down the Balboa pier, rent a bike and ride along the beach, pilot an electric boat around Newport Harbor, dine at a waterfront restaurant, and enjoy a concert, play or movie—
all in the same spot!
